Alexander The Great Mage

Chapter 121 - Royal Edict

The shock (and slight indignation) of finding out that the fat cat\'s tapping on Alexander\'s head was merely her tapping along to the beat of a weird song, as well as the fact that she could easily call the God of Magic to come help Alexander, short circuited Aleyria\'s brain.

She had totally no idea what to say to Fluff-fluff. For a full minute, she just gaped at the fat cat.

"Plebian." Blackfire thought numbly to himself. "I am a plebian compared to this fluffy fat cat. She\'s hanging out with Magius and probably other top tier personages, and here I am, serving Alexander because I couldn\'t even save Flamewing from mere Scions of Zegaro."

Fluff-fluff seemed totally unaware of the massive waves of shock and awe that she had caused in the minds of her two comrades, and continued to tap on Alexander\'s head.

Seeing that, Aleyria\'s mouth couldn\'t help but twitch slightly. She wanted to tell the fat cat to stop, but she was hesitant. The fat cat was, afterall, the very embodiment of good fortune.. Who knows what her seemingly meaningless taps on the head could actually result in? Maybe Alexander would get smarter! Or even become a much luckier person!

Finally, she decided to leave Fluff-fluff be. All things considered, even if Alexander\'s head only served as a temporary percussion musical instrument for the fat cat and nothing else, it was harmless anyway.

"Hang in there, my love!" Aleyria thought to herself. "Consider those pats as loving touches from the fat cat!"

"Meow?" Fluff-fluff meowed.

"Huh? What\'s wrong?" Aleyria asked.

Fluff-fluff merely waved her cute little paw at the crowd surrounding them.

"That\'s right!" Aleyria realized with a start. "They have finally stopped attacking us!"

"They\'re withdrawing." Blackfire said softly.

"Why? What\'s happening?" Aleyria asked him. She was totally out of her element in space. Well, technically she controlled the space element, but in outer space such as where they were now, she was pitifully small and could not sense much of what was actually happening around her.

"I think someone powerful and… of high prestige is coming." Blackfire frowned slightly. "They seem to be retreating to make way for that person."

Indeed, it was exactly as Blackfire had observed.

The mechas and motherships scrambled to the side and within seconds, they had created a wide open avenue towards the golden sphere where they were in.

In the distance, Aleyria and Blackfire could see a golden glow slowly growing larger and larger. Very soon, they could see through the glow and see exactly who or what was coming.

Two powerfully built men with luxurious cyan robes and regal bearings were walking very casually towards them. Although they seemed like they were only having a relaxing stroll, every single step of theirs brought them many, many kilometers ahead.

"They seem very powerful." Aleyria said quietly as she glanced at Fluff-fluff.

Fluff-fluff was actually sitting demurely on Alexander\'s forehead and licking her paws as though nothing interesting was happening. She had stopped her singing and tapping, thankfully.

However, her nonchalance brought great assurance to Aleyria and Blackfire who had absolutely no power to deal with anyone at that moment..

"Their control of space had reached a degree that I had never thought possible." Blackfire exclaimed softly. "In fact, I think in each and every step, they are also releasing the power of time. It\'s… incredible!"

"Pooh. They\'re cute little boys, that\'s all. Don\'t be too impressed with such gimmicks." Fluff-fluff chided Blackfire cutely.

"Yes, My Lady." Blackfire responded respectfully.

Whoosh.

The two men stopped before the golden sphere that housed Aleyria, Blackfire, Alexander and Fluff-fluff.

The man in front had an extremely haughty look on his face, and he gave them an incredibly marvelous sneer, befitting that of any story\'s major villain. The second man was simply standing behind him with his head slightly bowed. A subordinate.

"Open up, in the name of the Dragon Emperor, God of the Universe, Magius!" He spoke loudly as he rapped on the golden sphere with great force.

Aleyria merely blinked innocently at him and didn\'t say anything.

"I am giving you three seconds to open up before I lay waste to you and everything in this entire area!" He shouted impatiently.

"One!" He shouted.

"Two!"

"Three! Heheh, you\'re asking for it!" He shouted with an ugly look on his face.

"Your majesty, may I advise patience. I be-" The second man tried to dissuade the first man from attacking.

"Shut up old man. I\'m the one in charge of this operation! Just stand down and watch!" The first man snapped very childishly.

Aleyria felt rather strange hearing such words coming out from such a regal and majestic looking person.

WHOOSH!!!!!

A sharp ray of light suddenly erupted from the first man\'s fists as he drew back his arm for a punch.

As his arm moved backwards, a vast pressure fell upon the area hundreds of kilometers around him.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!!!

Countless mechas who were still within range exploded! They were utterly unable to resist the horrifying pressure exerted by the man\'s mere act of drawing back his arm!

NGEEEE!!!

The shields surrounding the fighters and the frigates gave terrifying screeches as the captains frantically diverted all power to shields.

Within the sphere, Blackfire blanched slightly when he sensed the ridiculous amount of power that the man was wielding and which he was about to unleash upon them.

"Uh…" he started to say. But it was too late.

The pressure everywhere lifted suddenly and gathered into his fist, creating an energy sledgehammer that seemed like it could destroy anything and everything.

WHOOSHH!!!!!

Unlike Alexander\'s attack which was a combination of the power of three different Gods and could cross over different realms, this man\'s power was purely arcane and came completely from Magius, and thus it did not cause the powerful spatial explosions like Alexander\'s previously. Still, the sheer amount of energy contained within it was leagues above Alexander\'s.

Although qualitatively weaker than Alexander\'s, it more than made up for it by its incredible quantity. Much, much more.

The first man smashed down his fist at the golden sphere, his eyes gleaming maniacally as he anticipated watching the sphere crack into pieces and the sorry excuses for people within it bleed for their arrogance.

However, the maniacal gleam in his eyes quickly turned into shock as all of the incredible power he unleashed upon the golden sphere simply disappeared, like a fistful of dust released upon a summer breeze.

In spoiled prince fashion however, his shock turned to indignance almost as rapidly.

"You dare play tricks on the Royal Envoy of the Dragon Emperor!? Are you seeking to rebel against His Royal Highness?" He roared out in childish anger. "OPEN THE SPHERE THIS INSTANT AND RECEIVE HIS ROYAL EDICT!"

Aleyria and Blackfire both breathed out their held breaths in relief. Although they believed in the power of the golden sphere which the fat cat had created, it was quite hair-raisingly scary for a moment back then. They had never sensed such an insurmountably powerful wave of energy directed at them with intent to kill before.

Aleyria glanced at Fluff-fluff which was still licking her paws lazily. She seemed content and absolutely unwilling to do anything at the moment.

"YOU…" The first man sputtered. He was so indignant and angry that he couldn\'t find anything to say. He had never been ignored like that in his entire life!

"Your majesty. I believe we should just read the… errr… message now." The second man said gently.

"EDICT! IT\'S A ROYAL EDICT! I GOT IT DIRECTLY FROM HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS!" The first man screamed uncontrollably at the second man. "STOP INSULTING THE ROYAL EDICT! I COULD HAVE YOU HANGED FOR THIS!"

"Very well, Your Majesty. We need to read the Royal Edict now. Any delay would be a grievous insult to His Royal Highness\'s explicit instructions that the Royal Edict be delivered immediately." The second man said smoothly with a straight face. "If you recall, that was also the reason why we were allowed to use the Royal Portal in the first place."

"That\'s right. I will not brook any insult to His Royal Highness\'s will. You\'d do well to remember that old man. I am his disciple, after all. Unlike you, a mere follower." The first man sneered.

He quickly unfurled a large scroll with pictures of golden dragons everywhere.

"Listen up, you foolish mortals. This is the Royal Edict of The Dragon Emperor, God of the Universe, Lord of all, Magius the Great." He glared at Aleyria and Blackfire, making sure that they were paying attention.

"The Lord God of the Universe had found it pleasing to entrust his Noble Disciple, Lord Krakus of Planet Karkonos, to deliver the following words to a person named Fat Cat." He sneered when he got to this point.

"Fat Cat!" Krakus cried out. "The Lord God of the Universe had decreed the following words… "I AM BUSY! DON\'T BOTHER ME WITH LITTLE THINGS!" Written by my hand, Magius. Moon Palace."
